Abschied von Schwesig, Hurenkampagne gegen Schwarzer – News vom 2. Juni 2017

1. Der Blogger Gunnar Kunz beschäftigt sich mit der verklärenden Mythenbildung über Frauenministerin Schwesig in der "Süddeutschen Zeitung".



2. Unter der dämlichen Schlagzeile "Huren gehen auf Alice Schwarzer los" berichtet der Kölner "Express" in einem Verständnislosigkeit heuchelnden Artikel über eine Aktion von Sexarbeiterinnen, die durch das auch von Schwarzer durchgedrückte neue Prostitutionsgesetz geschädigt wurden.



3. Es ist schon bemerkenswert, wie sehr Feministinnen auf die Barrikaden gehen, sobald ausnahmsweise irgendwo eine offene Debatte mit Kritikern ihrer Ideologie droht. "There is no 'debate' to be had over the existence of male privilege" ätzt Ruby Hamad in der Schlagzeile eines langen Artikels, der gegen diese Debatte argumentiert – ohne dass Hamad realisiert, dass schon ihre Schlagzeile ein Beweis für feministische Privilegien ist: Worüber debattiert werden darf legen nicht die Machtlosen in einer Gesellschaft fest. Tatsächlich gelingt Feministinnen das Unterbinden einer Debatte mit Männerrechtlern in den Leitmedien weltweit aber sehr gut.

In the field of criminology, it is well established that men engage in more crime than women. Now, a new study from the University of Pennsylvania published in the journal Criminology, addresses the incomplete understanding of why males are more criminal than females by examining gender differences in biological functioning and behavior. It is the first study to demonstrate that men's lower resting heart rate partly explains the higher rate of criminal offending.

5. "Jetzt hör endlich auf, immer wieder dein Geschlecht zu wechseln!" verlangt eine High School der USA von einer ihrer Schülerinnen und regelt das per Vertrag. Die Schülerin ist wenig begeistert:

"A student should feel safe to figure their identity out no matter how many times they change who they are."

Now a gay female again with her original name, the student said she is likely to remain a woman for the foreseeable future.

6. Die Feministin Amanda Marcotte wirft den Beatles Frauenfeindlichkeit vor, die vor allem im Sergeant-Pepper-Album der Band zum Ausdruck gekommen sei:

When the quartet from Liverpool started releasing albums, their fans were mostly teenage girls who were frequently mocked for the hysterical outpouring of enthusiasm that clearly was an uncorking of repressed lust. Girls liked the Beatles because they wanted to fuck the Beatles (or so the theory went), and the whole thing was kind of embarrassing, even for the men at the center of the enterprise who were getting rich and famous off all that female desire.

It’s no surprise, then, that the Beatles’ shift toward a more respectable and artistic branding meant shedding their sex appeal. The "Sgt. Pepper" album cover features the Fab Four dressed in goofy-looking uniforms that couldn’t be better suited to repel the female gaze. Beyond the title track and "Lucy in the Sky with the Diamonds," there’s very little on the record that makes a lady want to shake her hips on the dance floor.

"Sgt. Pepper" is a good pop record, don’t get me wrong. But it’s a record I resent, because it helped cement this notion that music for girls is silly and music for men is artistically significant. It’s a notion that is doubly appalling because history shows, time and time again, that girl-tastes are the ones that are ahead of the curve.
