Hochschul-Irrsinn, Feminismus und Gewalt – News vom 17. Mai 2017

1. Ein erneuter Anlauf, an der Uni Devon eine Gruppe für Männeranliegen zu gründen, wurde von dem dortigen Studentenverband erneut zurückgewiesen:

Alessandro Phillips wrote: "You stood up to give those students a voice in our societies and a safe place to go to discuss things without being shouted down, laughed at, and push out and the very things you campaigned against were used to silence you by the unjust mind-set of that body and its representatives. I see now that we live in a world where those who claim to campaign for 'equality' do not recognise or allow equality for anyone other than themselves."

2. Eine Studentin der Uni Oxford, die ihrem Freund ein Messer ins Bein rammte, könnte wegen ihres "außergewöhnlichen Talents" einer Haftstrafe entgehen. Eine solche Bestrafung, so der Richter, würde ihren Wunsch, ihrem Traumjob nachzugehen, zunichte machen. Die Studentin befindet sich derzeit im Urlaub auf Barbados und wird zum Semesterbeginn an ihr College zurückkehren.



3. Der Professorin für Geistes- und Medienwissenschaft Camille Paglia zufolge hält der Neo-Feminismus unserer Zeit Menschen dauerhaft davon ab, erwachsen zu werden:

Second-wave feminism went off the track when it started to demonize men and blame them for all the evils in human history. It’s a neurotic world-view that was formulated in too many cases by women (including Gloria Steinem and Kate Millett) with troubled childhoods in unstable homes. (...) My early role models, Amelia Earhart and Katharine Hepburn, were fierce individualists and competitors who liked and admired men and who never indulged in the tiresome, snippy rote male-bashing that we constantly hear from today’s feminists. I am an equal opportunity feminist who opposes special protections for women. What I am saying throughout my work is that girls who are indoctrinated to see men not as equals but as oppressors and rapists are condemned to remain in a permanently juvenile condition for life. They have surrendered their own personal agency to a poisonous creed that claims to empower women but has ended by infantilizing them. Similarly, boys will have no motivation to mature if their potential romantic partners remain emotionally insecure, fragile, and fearful, forever looking to parental proxies (like campus grievance committees or government regulators) to make the world safe for them.

4. Der Popstar Taylor Swift behauptet, sexuell belästigt worden zu sein, und zieht eine "Expertin aus den Genderstudien" als Zeugin dafür heran, dass Männer wie der Beklagte solche Dinge tun. Der protestiert:

Mueller has filed a motion asking the judge to preclude de Volo's testimony, arguing that she has never met or spoken to him yet has portrayed him as someone "likely to commit" sexual assault. "If her report addressed such extreme generalisations about race, as opposed to gender, Defendants would have been embarrassed to admit it," attorney Gabriel McFarland wrote in the motion.

5. Ein männlicher Feminist, der seine Botschaften über einen Youtube-Kanal verbreitet, wurde verhaftet, weil er eine Frau erschossen haben soll. Diese Nachricht weckt Erinnerungen an frühere Meldungen über kriminelle oder übergriffige männliche Feministen. Wenn es immer wieder solche Fälle in der Männerrechtsbewegung gäbe, würde es kein Ende an Artikeln darüber geben, wie gefährlich unsere politische Anschauung wäre.
