Kanada: Poster von Männerrechtlern werden von den Wänden gerissen

Während Kanadas Männerrechtler den Dialog suchen, indem sie auf die Statements der Feministinnen mit eigenen Statements reagieren, versucht das feministische Lager weiterhin, den Dialog – und die freie Meinungsäußerung – zu unterbinden. Plakate mit Slogans wie "Männerrechte sind Menschenrechte" werden von den Wänden gerissen. Und natürlich haben die Medien sofort wieder eine Gendertante an der Hand, die diese Aktionen mit viel Geschwafel rechtfertigt:

The posters "are based on a profound misunderstanding of the socially constructed and evolving nature of all gender performances," Marie Lovrod, assistant professor with the gender studies department at the University of Saskatchewan, said in an email.

"The most effective approaches to social equity share a sense of interconnection and solidarity across disadvantaged social positions and do not reinforce dominating power dynamics in favour of any one social group over others. Compassion and love for any group requires love, compassion and respect for all. When I consider the vital efforts of those who, behind the scenes and without fanfare, invest their lives in difficult and inclusive social justice work, I find it remarkable that the narrow world view that the posters propose attracts any attention at all."
